Ski Lessons for Schenectady Kids

We are raising funds to sponsor ski lessons for children from underserved populations in Schenectady. This is an official program of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Schenectady (BGCS). We also receive significant assistance from The Schenectady Foundation and Maple Ski Ridge. Ashok Ramasubramanian, Professor of Engineering at Union College and BGCS Board Member, is helping with logistics and fundraising. This program is run mostly by volunteers !

We had a successful pilot last year and we are hoping to expand the program into a second year. You can see an article in our local newspaper (Schenectady Gazette) here:

Please note: We have a matching grant from The Schenectady Foundation. Any dollar amount we raise will be matched dollar for dollar by them. Participation by underrepresented minorities is sorely lacking in winter sports. Please help us make a difference.
