Fuck MG

As many of you know, Soozie was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis (MG). This is a progressive neurological disease that severely impacts her skeletal muscles, causing them to weaken and fatigue, which subsequently affects her swallowing, vision, breathing, and bodily movements. Despite this, most of us would never know she has MG as she is always so positive, hardworking, and continues to face all health issues with strength. She has recently been approved for a risky procedure called a thymectomy in which her thymus is removed during cardiothoracic surgery. With the thymus removed, MG symptoms may improve due to the body no longer being able to produce autoantibodies that mistakenly attack muscle-nerve connections. Soozie will be in the ICU for at least a week pending no complications. Full recovery will be at least 6 weeks and she will likely return to work with restrictions.

Soozie is such an amazing mother, sister, daughter, friend, and Occupational Therapist. She is the sole provider to her beautiful daughter and has made countless sacrifices to give her the best life possible. Her residents will also tell you how special she is as she always goes above and beyond her duties. She often purchases and donates items to residents in need and going out of her way to make sure they are cared for.

Now, it’s our turn to support Soozie. We want to minimize the financial burden during this time so that she can rest and recover without worrying about her finances and bills. Any donation, big or small, is appreciated and truly matters.
