Wigan & Leigh Hospice

We are doing a family hike up Scafell Pike in October to raise money for Wigan and Leigh Hospice, in memory of our beautiful Ron. A beautiful mother, daughter, sister, auntie, cousin and loving friend to many.

Ron was diagnosed with cancer in March 2024 just after her 50th birthday and spent time in the hospice whilst they got her pain management under control and was again taken in for the last weeks of her life where they cared for her and made sure she was comfortable.

The hospice do an amazing job of caring for their patients and supporting the families around them. All of the staff went above and beyond to care for and support our Ron and also her family whilst we stayed with her and visited her. Making it easy for a big family like us to visit at whatever times we wanted to.

As a family we want to raise funds for the hospice to say a huge Thankyou for everything they did for us, from the staff in the kitchen, laundry, domestics, nurses, carers and doctors and volunteers. They need £12,000 per day to be able to run their amazing service so anything you can donate would be appreciated, even if it’s just £1!

More information about Wigan & Leigh Hospice: Wigan and Leigh Hospice provides expert palliative care to local people. The Hospice has an in-patient unit as well as community teams helping patients in their own homes and in care homes.
