Friends, family and kind strangers, it is difficult to be a human right now and sometimes we feel like we are already giving more than we can, so I ask this with humbleness and the hope that our hearts will connect. Any generosity, no matter the size is appreciated.
There is a lovely man, Adam, and his dog, Peanut who just lost one of the brightest, bestest human beings, my friend, Dee, Deirdre Waer.
Dee was a unicorn - creative, funny, smart, bold, undaunted by the huge challenges in her life. She had such a tender heart and was always looking out for the underdog and speaking truth to power. Unafraid, unapologetic and real.
During our last conversation she shared how her heart hurt thinking about how much Adam's recent colon cancer had drastically altered his life. Now, he is left with this health struggle he must face without his love, his need to grieve and heal and the stress and pressure of having to pay rent and put food on the table. We have the power to help ease this struggle.
So please give something, anything... if you've lost a special person and know what it is to grieve, if you hope someone will be there for your family in a similar situation, if you feel a human connection, if you want to strengthen your ability to give and care about others - family, friends and even strangers or even if you just want to give because you can.
