On December 1st, our brother Thiago got into a severe motorcycle accident on his way home from work. He was hit by a truck and has been in critical condition in the ICU for the past few weeks, fighting for his life. He broke his pelvic bone, right arm, left wrist and hand, right leg and knee (which will have to be reconstructed). He also fractured his skull, and broke five of his ribs. He has suffered a severe brain injury. Thiago has done 2 surgeries so far and they plan to operate in a few weeks. He's had multiple procedures already, he is under constant care and is fighting to get out of the ICU. Thiago after ICU will be placed in a rehabilitation center for a minimum of a year to help recover his brain and other injuries. He will need to learn how to talk, walk, and think again. The entire right side of his body is currently paralyzed and he will need to do rehab to learn to move that side again. It would mean the world to Thiago and his loved ones if anyone could donate; even a dollar would be a big help. It would greatly help our family; we have a long journey ahead and multiple surgeries. No dia 1º de dezembro, nosso irmão Thiago sofreu um grave acidente de moto quando voltava do trabalho para casa. Ele foi atropelado por um caminhão e está em estado crítico na UTI nas últimas semanas, lutando por sua vida. Ele quebrou o osso pélvico, braço direito, punho e mão esquerdos, perna direita e joelho (que terá que ser reconstruído). Ele também fraturou o crânio e quebrou cinco costelas. Ele sofreu uma grave lesão cerebral. Thiago fez 2 cirurgias até agora e planeja operar em algumas semanas. Ele já passou por vários procedimentos, está sob cuidados constantes e está lutando para sair da UTI. Thiago após a UTI será colocado em um centro de reabilitação por no mínimo um ano para ajudar a recuperar seu cérebro e outras lesões. Ele precisará aprender a falar, andar e pensar novamente. Todo o lado direito de seu corpo está paralisado e ele precisará fazer reabilitação para aprender a mover esse lado novamente. Significaria o mundo para Thiago e seus entes queridos se alguém pudesse doar; até mesmo um dólar seria uma grande ajuda.
