Skarlett’s Medical Journey

I made this fundraiser to help my daughter, Skarlett, and my little family raise the funds to be able to get my daughter the medical attention she desperately needs. Last week, Skarlett was diagnosed with pediatric feeding disorder / oral sensitivity. It has caused her to refuse to eat any solid foods. On May 3rd, my family will travel to Children's Hospital in Dallas, Tx where she will be put under anesthesia to have an esophagogastroduodenoscopy done. Following that, towards the end of May, she will be admitted to the hospital to do an intensive inpatient feeding therapy where we will stay in the hospital for one month. During that time she will receive speech and occupational therapy, nutrition services, and behavior modification strategies to help with her eating disorder. The Integrated Therapy Feeding Program at Children's Health is the only multidisciplinary program in Texas, and normally has a 6 month up to a year waiting list. The clinic originally told us that Skarlett could not be seen until sometime in the fall of this year, but fortunately they had a cancelation and are able to get Skarlett in the program at the end of May. Due to such a short notice, this gives us less time to save money and have the funds to cover bills and traveling expenses. Skarlett's father will have to miss a lot of work at his barbershop during Skarlett’s stay at the hospital so he can be there for our daughter and step-sons. This is a dire situation for Skarlett. She needs to be able to claim her spot in the program this May, so any help for our family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God Bless❤️
