Hello Skål Community!
We are incredibly grateful for all of the support we have received over the last nine months to weather the pandemic. Our loyal fans have showed up for takeout, outdoor dining, and swag purchases. Thank you. You all are what keep us going!
Those of us in the hospitality industry have been incredibly hard hit by COVID and are on the front lines everyday keeping people fed and happy. With restrictions constantly changing, it feels like we are restructuring our business on a weekly basis. We have also been forced to layoff 1/2 of our staff twice in 2020. As an owner, this is incredibly painful, especially at this time of the year. Our amazing team is what makes your experience at the beer hall so great!
As you all know, we are currently only able to do outdoor dining and takeout. We anticipate this will be the case well into the new year. With limited space, winter weather, and much lower demand, we face a significant financial challenge ahead.
In order to provide both heat and shelter from the elements, we intend to build a roofed structure out in our curbside space with electric heat. This will enable us to survive the winter. See example below.
It is with great humility that we are asking for support to help pay for the materials and labor to get this structure up in the next few weeks. Any remaining funds will be distributed to our employees who are currently out of work. These funds will not go towards any other expenses.
We know that many of you are also experiencing hardship, so anything you can spare will be greatly appreciated by all of us. We have also put together some fun perks in exchange for your support.
$10, $25, $50 - Our love, gratitude, a Skål sticker, and a high-five (when we are able).
$75 - Two Skål Pint Glasses
$100 - Skål Hoodie
$250 - Your Name on a wood round on our Valhalla Wall
$500 - VIP spot next to one of our fire pits. Give us a 2 hour heads up and a fire pit will always be available for you. This also includes a wood round on our Valhalla Wall
$1000 - Feast for Four (with a protein of your choice) and mead/beer pairing with the dinner. You'll also get the VIP fire pit spot and a wood round on the Valhalla Wall
If there are any architects (for permit drawing and stamp) or electricians out there that would be willing to donate time or barter with us, we'd be grateful for that too!
