Help Ethan Recover

Hi, my name is Steven Sheehy and I have started this go fund me page on behalf of my sister Jacqui and her 11 year old little angel Ethan Sheehy.

Ethan suffers from a learning delay coupled with epilepsy that is debilitating to say the least in everyday life. His medications do not stop the seizures but give minor change in quality of life as anyone who knows about epilepsy, is still a mystery as to why and what causes the sudden seizures.

Last week was the phone call I never wanted to receive. My nephew had stopped breathing no pulse and essentially non responsive. My sister who is what I can only say is some kind of guardian angel and super woman all in one, checked on my nephew once to wake him and then a second time to make sure he was getting up for school. The second time she went in there she noticed Ethan laying there face down and not a normal position he lays in. My sister knew there was something wrong and went over to find Ethan had no pulse, not breathing and blue all over.

Ethan is alive because of my sister, my hero ... quickly bounced into action and performed CPR on him regaining his pulse and life back into his body. I can't and never will understand the fear of what she was going through at this time. Ambulances arrived and took Ethan to Campbelltown hospital where everyone there sprung into action and worked on Ethan to stabilise him. For 14 minutes Jacqui performed CPR and I don't think anyone realises how hard that would be on even the fittest person. Her motherly instinct kicked in and you did what I don't think I could ever do.

2 weeks later Ethan is still asleep and has not woken up. The Doctors and Nurses are amazing and have done everything they can so far to help Ethan recover. We have had some pretty damaging news as of late and Ethan's current condition is unknown. My sister to date has not left his side and is such a strong foundation in my nephews life. A mother that we can all agree is doing everything in her power to have him return home. My sister has a little girl named Everly who also misses her brother and her mother. I can't imagine how hard it is for her and the strength she has is like nothing I've seen before.

We have had some amazing support from friends and family so far and Ethan is surrounded by the most amazing people that are dear to our hearts and I want to thank all of you for reaching out and showing us your love for Ethan.

My sister is usually the one raising awareness and money to help Kids in need through different programs and charities. Now I am reaching out for the support to give back to this little boy who has given so much to all of us. If you have met Ethan you know how special he is to us and how he makes everyone smile and feel amazing with no words needed.

For those whose hearts have not been touched by Ethan I can assure you that even spending 5 minutes with his infectious smile and warm hugs would brighten up the darkest of your days. Ethan is a happy little boy with a very positive outlook on life. He truly has the heart of 10 grown men and I know I could never be as strong as him in my wildest dreams.

Please, every little bit helps to the recovery and on going treatment my sister is going to need when Ethan wakes up. We are all counting on him to wake up and waiting to see his little smile once again.
