Help Keep Bentley With His Family
Donation protected
My wife and I are Bentley's maternal grandparents. Due to some challenges in their lives, his parents aren't currently able to care for him. They love him dearly, but just aren't able to provide a stable environment for him. He has been living with us for the past four and a half months, and has been developing into a smart, curious, and active little guy. Unfortunately, the local child services agency (who placed him into our care initially) has decided that Bentley needs to be placed in a foster home other than a family member, due to physical safety issues at our house. There are repairs that need to be done to bring our house up to their standards, and we are unable to complete them entirely on our budget. We have already begun fixing the most crucial items, hoping that our progress will reassure the social worker that we have Bentley's best interest at heart, (which we do). That wasn't enough for them, and he will be removed from our care. This is agonizing thinking about the emotional damage that this move will do to him, and we have been helping provide for him since birth. He will be one year old the day after I write this, and that trauma at this age may very well cause him irreparable harm. We love our grandson and have done, and will continue to do everything we can to support him and his parents to remain a family. If he is in foster care for a long enough time, the child services agency will place him up for adoption. We don't want that to ever happen. Please help us get Bentley back home, to his family, quickly! We have had crews from our church helping us with labor, but we need to purchase more material, (sheetrock, some lumber, paint, etc) to fix up things so he can come home. My wife and I thank you from the depths of our hearts. God bless.
