Alexis McNair's Funeral

Alexis McNair, "Little Lexi," has been a student in my classroom since 2004.  She was born with Lissencephaly - smooth brain syndrome.  She was a special, special little girl who overcame the daily challenges that came with her condition.  She lived with and loved her grandma who mothered her and who always put Lexi first no matter what.  Alexis loved to come to school even when she could no longer sit up in her wheelchair.  She adored her classroom nurse, Ms. Mary, and classroom paraprofessional, Ms. Laura.  Though she couldn't speak with words, she communicated more than most people could say in a lifetime.  She was always ready to listen to books read to her and would pretend to read along.  She loved the beach, her family, and being with classmates and all the other kids in school.  Little Lexi passed away on March 31, 2016.  We are raising money to help Alexis' family cover her funeral costs.  Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
