Hi everyone!! I'm Samuel, a postdoctoral researcher in oncology at Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) in Barcelona, Spain.
I´ve been working in the last years with personalized medicine to understand the mechanisms of tumor resistance to therapies. Recently, we started a new project centered on the study of mechanisms of resistance implicated in conventional and immunotherapy treatments in bladder cancer.
I was accepted to attend the AACR Translational Cancer Research for Basic Scientists Workshop. The event will be held in November 16-22 in Boston, United States. This prestigious training program, organized by American Association of Cancer Research, will allow me to improve my research skills for maximum clinical impact and transition into a new career in translational cancer medicine.
As a postdoctoral researcher, it is a really unique opportunity to acquire knowledge, share professional experiences and most important, to have positive repercussions in patient´s care by improving the quality of oncology research, establishing a strong relationship between clinicians and scientists.
I decided to create this crowdfunding and share with colleagues, friends and people worldwide because the total amount of the workshop is quite expensive for me (1120 EUR /1250 USD). I've already assumed the expenses regarding to flights, travel insurance and accommodation.
I'm trying, through this crowdfunding, to get some contribution from you to attend this event.
