From April to September, Jeff was admitted to the Corpus Christi Hospital, the ICU at UTMB Galveston twice, and finally an extended stay at Houston Methodist. As a result of septic shock, ammonia levels over 180, a MELD score of 31, and two other medical emergencies - Jeff was approved for and received a full liver transplant. A miracle on both accounts!

As we know, the Sjostrom's have not historically been very good about asking for, or receiving, help. That being said, for those of you who reached out and wanted to help but didn't know how - especially with the sensitive nature of organ transplants not allowing for flowers/visitors while in recovery - I wanted to share this for the Sjostrom Family as they transition into their new normal.
