3 Day Fast For Bradford Central Foodbank

10 Foodbank volunteers & supporters are fasting so Foodbank can keep operating. 

 

Foodbank will be homeless unless we raise the deposit to buy The Jubilee Centre by mid Nov as the sellers have another cash buyer waiting! We've used Jubilee Centre since Covid and we're still feeding over 1000 people a month - double preCovid levels. 

 

We're fasting because many people have not eaten for days when they arrive at Foodbank. I know this from personal experience. I hadn’t eaten for 3 days when I first went to Foodbank. I'd been in a coma for 6 weeks in hospital with pneumonia and sepsis. Then when I got out I was battling to get my money sorted. My dad had died and I didn’t have any support. I got a Foodbank parcel and by the following week my MP had sorted my money out. I have volunteered for years and am now Foodbank's warehouse manager. (I'm the one holding the 'N' plate!)

The Light Church needs £290k for the deposit to buy the building, but the good news is we've already raised £145k.  As Foodbank volunteers we want to play our part by raising £10k towards this total!
