My brother Bruce and sister-in-law Darlene are having some tough luck on the Family Health front which has placed a financial burden on them. My sister Ellen had heard of “Go Fund Me” as a means for family and friends to help loved ones in their time of need. Well wishes an God bless to all that might be willing and able to assist Darlene and myself during this time. This is a short story of the past 13 months.
In Dec 2014 Darlene had back fusion surgery, her second and her recovery time was 18 months. At 10 months she had her left hip replaced which had just worn out. 90 days later she had her right hip replaced and her recovery was going well until the accident. She fell and “spiral fractured” her leg and displaced steel rods put in during the hip replacement which had not had time to heal.
She was transported via ambulance to Twin Cities Community Hospital, transferred again to Sierra Vista where she waited for 2 days while the Doctors studied the case and agreed they could not repair it. Then transported for 3rd time by ambulance to San Bernadino, St. Bernadines Hospital and two days later had surgery by a wonderful Dr. Donaldson. She recovered there for week then she went back in the ambulance to return to SLO County. Currently she is undergoing therapy before being able to return home. It looks like in time she will have a full recovery and the ability to do the things she enjoys.
This last surgery has really hurt emotionally, physically, and financially. I had enough leave time for the first 3 surgeries but this last one has exhausted all of my leave time and more. Substantially less pay this month is really hitting us hard financially.
Thanks to all the folks that have been praying for us, and with the Lords help that Darlene gets better soon.
