Our hearts and prayers go out to those suffering in Puerto Rico and Mexico after experiencing terrible natural disasters. In both regions, many people are still left without electricity or fresh running water.  The damage is so severe, many homes are uninhabitable and roadways have been demolished. The recovery will require an extended commitment for some time even after the immediacy of the tragedy subsides.

In support and solidarity of the people of Puerto Rico and Mexico, the San José Evergreen Community College District, based in San José, California, has created a relief fund to support vetted local charitable organizations that are on the ground making a difference.  Funds will be distributed to the following organizations:

Puerto Rico: 
Caritas Puerto Rico
Fondos Unidos de Puerto Rico

Mexico: 
Donaciones X Una Sonrisa

Puerto Rico and Mexico are home to many within our SJECCD community.  Trustees, administrators, staff and faculty are taking personal time and funds to help rebuild Puerto Rico this fall and beyond.

Please help us make a difference. Together we can help rebuild the infrastructure and lives of our relatives and friends in these two hard-hit areas that mean so much to our community.
