Sponsor a Child's Education in rural Sri Lanka

When a child has the opportunity to be part of an innovative, current, creative, and holistic school of a small village in rural Sri Lanka, we try to give that child a chance to shine and bring out the best in them.  

Speaking and writing English can be life changing in tourist areas like Arugam Bay. Unfortunately many government schools struggle with teacher shortages and competence in teaching English. The need for an English speaking workforce is high; however local youth is generally not proficient enough, and end up being pushed towards low income jobs.

As in most rural areas, many families are poor and are not able to provide their children additional education. At Arugam Bay College we would like to welcome as many local kids as possible to attend our school and give these children an extraordinary chance to master various subjects that will open doors for a better future.

Arugam Bay College (ABC) started in January 2019 as a small holistic international school in Arugam Bay - a fishing and surfing village on the east coast of Sri Lanka. Slowly but surely our village is developing in tourism, sustainable farming, environmental awareness and more.  And so the need for an international school became quite obvious for the few foreigners living here.

Our small school offers English Curriculum classes from Preschool to Grade 6 and beyond. The students are exposed to a natural flow of learning that fits in with our community and environment; English, IT, Maths & Science; and activities such as outdoor play, music, bio-dynamic farming, languages, and surfing to name a few.  

Please help us raise funds to sponsor a child of a low income family from our small village and join our young team with the potential to change the world. You can make a one-time contribution of any amount; just 20 dollars can go a long way.  

The funds will go towards our Sponsored Tuition Fund to cover term fees, material, books etc.
