As far back as I could remembered I always wanted to be a filmmaker”. As a lover of all things film, and storytelling, there was no doubt I wanted to make films. My favorite platform to tell unique, and exciting stories. Beginning my film career in 2012, during my senior year of High school, I interned with the Inyo County film commissioner, Chris Langley. Eventually moving up as assistant location scout. Networking and learning my way around productions, first hand. Everything from a production assistant, to location manager, to a producer. The help by the film commissioner helped get my foot in the door, and meet contacts and other young filmmakers looking to make their own mark in the industry. By the year 2019, I was ready to make my first short film. Using all my knowledge I learned in years of on set work, along with the talented, hard working crew to help turn it into reality. I had faith before cameras rolled that we were onto something special. Because of everyone’s hard work, passion, and dedication. By no means a solo effort. The final short perceived all our expectations.

 All Else Fails:

All Else Fails follows Vincent, an unsuccessful con-man, on his chase for the American Dream. After a failed attempt at disability fraud and on the brink of eviction, he decides that in order to provide for his wife, he will need to escalate his crimes.

 

Along for the Ride:

Along for the Ride follows an aspiring screenwriter that is taken on a ride along with an alleged hitman to learn the ins and outs of his profession for a new script she is writing. As she learns more about the underworld he operates within, she quickly realizes she is in over her head.

The funds raised here will help expand that story. Along for the Ride is an original story by Manuel Ruiz that will be filmed independently of All Else Fails Supporting Independent Filmmaking!! Helping our team build a safe set, pay our cast and crew, secure location, equipment, and insurance! Joining a community of people who believe in creating change in the way we know best: storytelling! Supporting a dedicated cast and crew of Independent filmmakers looking to tell captivating stories through motion picture! How are the funds used? There are many moving parts to the planning and preparation of making a film and it takes a team of amazing people to get it done! The funds raised will go towards the following: Payment to cast and crew for bringing and using their many wonderful talents on these projects! Casting calls, location scouting, production meetings, labor work, props, costumes, insurance, gas, lodging, per diem, food. Post production editing, coloring, sound mixing, posters, DCPs (for theater and festival releases), festival submissions.

When and where are they being filmed?

 Principal Photography for All Else Fails will be filmed in the Ridgecrest, Lone Pine and Mammoth areas of California with shooting to begin late 2022. Principal Photography for Along for the Ride will be filmed in the Ridgecrest and Lone Pine areas of California in the beginning of 2023.
