Hi my names Kayla
My son Landon is almost 7 his birthday is December 29th. A few months ago he started to have headaches that turned into what seemed to be migraines. He then starts throwing up and saying his tummy would hurt. We went to a neurologist and then neurosurgery who sent us for a MRI that he had to be sedated for. The news was not what we were expecting. He has a cyst in the middle of his Brain between two ventricles major ventricles. We had to choose between a couple options which were wait a month and rescan or do surgical intervention right away. We choose to wait to see how quickly it progresses and if we can wait till after the holidays so he can enjoy Christmas and his birthday without being in the hospital. On December 13th he had another scan that shows the growth isn’t getting bigger but his symptoms have progressed where he is getting dizzy and his headaches are lasting days where he cannot attend school and is in pain and suffering more times then not. He will be having surgery on December 19th where they will be going into his brain to reach the cyst and try to pop it like a balloon and see if the body absorbs it. If it does not he will be needing a shunt which has a higher risk of complications. Landon is such a wonderful boy and has been through so much already. Any donations will help us be able to keep up on bills, food, gas to and from children's hospital as we have to take unpaid time off to care for him as well as our other two children who have daycare expenses to cover while we are in the hospital for a few days and recovery at home for a few weeks.
