PAULS FUNERAL

Hello,
I want to say from the bottom of my heart that I thank all of you that have been in my brothers life. We will all miss him and his very dry sense of humor! lol His favorite line was rule #62, for my AA buddies you know what I mean lol He was a crotchity pain in the ass but he was our pain and loved dearly. He always told jokes and made people laugh! At 50 after 35 years of addiction he got sober and earned his masters. He accomplished a lot in such a short time of his sobriety and it hurts so bad to loose him. The pain is unbearable right now for all of us, Paul had it hard growing up, worse then the rest of his sibilings. Although he seemed so rough and tough underneath that he was so kind, sweet, sensitive and life for him was just so sad. Our parents were so cruel to him especially our dad. He really never had a chance to have a happy life , because when you OD from heroin at 14 life is lost at that point. He got sober, learned to ski, play tennis, and teach. He helped many counsling and teaching, At 61 he relapsed and became homeless again living in a park. When we brought him out here a year ago he had Cancer. We will be loosing him very soon for yesterday he fell, hadn't eaten, drank anything and was hallucinating. Hospice felt he had a week or so left, so I am posting this today because as a family we really collectively have nothing for his burial. We don't want his body going to the morgue and sitting there so were hoping for any help we can get. It is hard writing and asking for help but we would like to not have to donate his body to science to get him buried because when they do that you can be in the morgue for up to a year. This is very difficult for us as a family and for me to write this before he has died truly is killing me. So if you can contribute anything reguardless of how small, we would be really grateful. We dont want to bury him in potters field without a headstone but of course we will if need be as our mom is there as well. I want to thank his son Mike for the brief time he knew you it made him so happy and so proud everytime he spoke of you! He'd say my sons a great kid and you are! Shannon you always brightened his day and he loved you so much! I want to thank all of you for the support we have been given and thank you to Andy, Bill and Steve. He wouldn't have ever known sobriety if it wasn't for all of you in the program and thank you for always being there from him! And when you remember rule # 62, think of Paul and smile! Bless you guys and thanks!
Best wishes to my AA brethren!
