Another update & not good. Stephanie went in for a minor procedure 05 April and has never left! She was moved out of ICU & right back in. I'll update when I have a status report ***
** Update...as of May 29, Stephanie is still in ICU from her simple surgery April 5th!! She has regained consciousness, they got her out of her coma and off the ventilator, but she still has a trach tube. She is unable to speak but can now type to let us know what she's thinking and what she needs. Her incision is still open and the doctors just don't have all the answers. Can you imagine waking up and being told hey, you've been out for over six weeks! She has so far to go and really needs your help and prayers. If you can please donate and share this, we would all be so grateful.
Update...as of May 9, Stephanie has still not recovered from her minor surgery five weeks ago. Her kidneys began to fail so she's having dyalisis and there are other issues. Please keep her in your prayers, donate if you can help and share her story!!
Our dear Stephanie has been through more than anyone should ever have to endure. She was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, a condition that causes dangerous swelling in the brain. Over the past five years, she has had four brain surgeries to place shunts in her brain to remove the excess fluid. Tragically, all have failed.
Most recently, Stephanie faced one of her greatest battles yet. Another shunt malfunction has led to a life-threatening infection, causing sepsis and forcing doctors to perform multiple emergency abdominal surgeries. She was placed on a ventilator four weeks ago to help with her breathing, and remains on, to help her body fight the sepsis. The ventilator has led to double pneumonia, which has only worsened her situation. Right now, her body is swollen and fragile. The doctors are unable to close her surgical site and adjust her shunt until her body begins to heal and the swelling subsides.
Stephanie’s road to recovery will be long and difficult. She has been unable to work and faces overwhelming medical bills and home expenses. She needs our help now more than ever.
If you can, please donate to support Stephanie’s care. Every dollar, every prayer and every share of this page brings her one step closer to healing. Your love and kindness mean more to Stephanie and her family than words can ever express.
All that I have seen teaches me to trust God our creator for all that I have not seen.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Jeremiah 30:17 I will restore your health and heal your wounds declared the Lord.
*** We hate we even have to add this, but for safety sake we just want everyone to know this will be the official and only GoFundMe for Stephanie. ***
