S.I.W. Spark a Conversation About Mental Health in Education

Hi, I am Carlett Martin, an actress, writer, and creator of the short film, "S.I.W." I've been presented with an opportunity to finally get this short produced. But, I need $3,500 to help fund it.

I wrote a short film about 7 years ago in the middle of depression as a first-time mom. I couldn't create the way I wanted, so I began to write. I did not want to tell my story but be inspired by my experience and merge the topic of what educators experience in the classroom into one story. "S.I.W." was born. I sat on it for years from fear, but that is OVER.

"S.I.W." is about Mr. Johnson, a flamboyant high school literature teacher who holds the title 'teacher of the year.' He hides his battle with depression until he loses his battle to a bully, his student. But one moment changes everything. This film explores the breaking point. Funding would help with pre/post-production quality, meals, festival submissions, etc.

Support "S.I.W." and help us spark a conversation about mental health and the pressures facing our educators. With your support, I know I can reach our $3,500 goal by March 5th.
