Emergency surgery

Hi, my name is Ameya Lisa, and I am reaching out for Help after a terrifying and unexpected emergency involving my cat and best friend, Sisu.

Thursday morning, Sisu swallowed a small, thin, flexible needle that was attached to a long string. I saw him struggling almost immediately and was able to pull the string out, but the needle had already moved deep inside of him. It eventually pierced his throat and esophagus, dangerously close to major nerves and a critical artery.

We rushed to the emergency vet and over the course of two very intense days, Sisu underwent

Miraculously, the needle missed all of the most critical areas. He is home now and healing but it has been an emotional roller coaster and a financial one too. Between two vet clinics, the emergency room and the surgery, his medical bills have totaled over $10,000.

If you know Sisu, you know he is tough, sweet and incredibly stubborn. He's on strict rest, (as much as a determined little cat will allow) and so far, his recovery is going well. I am endlessly grateful for all of the amazing doctors and medical staff who helped him.

Why I am asking for help

Covering this emergency care has put me in a very difficult financial spot. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward paying off the vet bills and giving Sisu the care he needs during recovery.
