Reina (11 years old) and Judy (8 years old) are beautiful Lebanese sisters that were caught in a fire accident on August 22nd, 2019. They were having fun that day participating in a summer camp when an error happened during a science experiment resulted in these devastated 3rd degree burns. As you see in the pictures, the burns are major and the girls have been struggling to cope with their lives since the accident.
Reina and Judy are looking for your help and support to continue with their post burn treatments until they're ready for reconstructive surgeries next year. The continuous treatment involves special custom garments that have to be worn at all times to prevent the skin from shrinking and avoid further complications when they're ready for their reconstructive surgeries. The treatment is estimated at over $100,000 US for the compression garments and continuous adjustments as the girls grow out of them and skin location shifts.
With the recent catastrophe in Lebanon (which also impacted this family directly when the girls mom was rushed to hospital due to glass injuries), economic pressures and lack of medical insurance, the family is struggling to fund their treatment leaving the girls with potential permanent physical damages not to forget the psychological aspects the girls are going through. I am a Canadian resident and I’ve started this GoFundMe to help my cousin’s daughters get through this most difficult experience in their lives and all your contributions will go directly to Reina and Judy to pay for their medical expenses.
