Sister's Plea: Support Blanca's Fight Against Cancer

It is with my whole heart that I write this letter. It is with my whole heart and being that I ask for your help in these critical moments.

My sister, Blanca has been fighting for her life. She has been diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma of the colon with metastatic disease through the abdominal wall. Also known as Stage 4 colon cancer. This has been the hardest time of her life but she is not giving up and neither will I.

What does your heart hold?

Does it hold love?

Does it show love?

Well mine pours love into my loved ones.

My sister holds a very special place in my heart.

A place reserved solely for a best friend.

A best friend who happens to be your sister is truly a gift.

She has seen me in every season of my life.

From sharing a room, buying my first mascara, all the way to helping me plan my own fairytale wedding.

From the ups and downs, the smiles and frowns, I hesitate to wonder what life would be like without a sister such as her.

Last night I saw a shooting star and I made a wish.

Perhaps I should not say what my wish was, but this wish demands to be heard.

My one wish in this life is to have my sister, my best friend, by my side as we both gradually age and enjoy the wonders of life together.

A wish that consists of us both having kids and seeing them become as close as we are.

A wish that gives my sister more time on this earth for new ups and less downs.

A wish for her to make many more wishes of her own.

Blanca has been my rock, my safe haven, someone who has always been there for me, for as long as I can recall.

Now it’s time for me to be all of that for her, and more.

It’s time for my sister to be taken care of, the same way she has cared for me and everyone she’s ever known in her life.

That being said, it is with my whole heart that I write this letter.

It is with my whole heart and being that I ask for your help in these critical moments.

My sister is seeking all the help, support and treatment possible. At this point in her life anything can happen. No one knows how much time remains for us all, so it’s important for each and every one of us to help those who seek it. My sister is seeking treatment that will require resources and we can all be that resource so that one day when we may need a helping hand, it will be there for us.

Thank you for reading my words and for your kindness. You are truly appreciated and my sister and I are thankful for your support and generosity in her darkest hour. With positive energy and love, I know there’s nothing she can’t overcome, so help me, help her in this fight and show the world that if you lead with love, there’s no battle that can’t be won.
