Sisters Feature Film

SISTERS is a heartfelt indie comedy about co-dependent best friends Lou and Esther, who are each other’s “chosen sisters”. But when Lou finds out she has a long-lost actual sister, she must re-define what that loaded F-word— family— means to her. 

Tonally, this film has the big, brash humor of Judd Apatow with the naturalistic, mumblecore feel of the Duplass brothers. Basically, it’s Apatow on some A24 shit. Inspired by the real-life friendship between co-stars Susie Yankou and Sarah Khasrovi, this platonic rom-com is an ode to chosen family. 

This film is helmed by an all-female team, including writer/director Susie Yankou, actor Sarah Khasrovi, producer Katie Sue Escher, and associate producer Riley Scott. Set to shoot in Los Angeles in May 2022, just over half of the movie’s budget has been raised through private investors — so we need your help getting to the finish line! Raising the final portion of the movie’s budget via your donations would mean allowing this lifelong dream to become a reality.
