Bismillah al-Rahmaan al-Raheem
As-salamu alaykum,
This is an opportunity to support a young female student of Islamic sacred knowledge. Sister T intends to go to Dar al-Zahra in Tarim to study her deen. If you contribute, you will get the reward of her studying and anyone that she benefits with her knowledge.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The best among you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it." [Sahih al Bukhari] If we can't dedicate our time to studying, we can at least assist those who are.
Sister T's background: She was born in Tarim to American parents and spent her childhood in its blessed lands. She then returned to the USA, completed high school while working to help provide for her family, and now wants to take time off from western education to pursue knowledge of her deen.
The Dar al-Zahra program is rigorous and demanding. She will study Quran, hadith, fiqh, seerah, tafseer, and tazkiya, all of the subjects are taught in Arabic by highly qualified instructors. The Dar al-Zahra environment is a spiritually uplifting one and encourages the practice of all that one is learning. Sister T's chances of success are high given her previous knowledge of Arabic and how smart, hardworking, and dedicated she is.
In sister T's own words:
Why do you want to go back to study in Tarim?
"I want to go back to study in Tarim because I believe it is the best place for me to learn and gain knowledge of my faith that I don’t think I would be able to find living in the West. I left Tarim at a very young age, so I have forgotten a lot of what I was taught there. To be able to study in Tarim is a blessing within itself, but living in Dar Al Zahra inshaAllah will give me the discipline that I need."
What are your goals for boarding in Dar al-Zahra?
"A few goals of being in the Dar include, learning Arabic again as I have forgotten some of it. I also want to strengthen my memorization of the Quran so that I can teach Quran when I return and give back to my community Inshallah.
During this past Ramadan, something changed within me that I can’t quite describe, but I know that my heart was telling me I needed to grow closer to Allah. Subhanallah coming back to America and being able to visit family and friends has been beautiful, but you’re also faced with trials and temptations as a teenager. And lastly, I hope that by going back, I will be able to strengthen my Imaan again."
The funds will be used for her plane tickets, visa, tuition for at least a year at Dar al-Zahra, and other expenses.
