This past August my sister Linda was diagnosed with uterine cancer. After a PET scan, they found cancer in the lymph nodes between her heart and lung.
Instead of the radical hysterectomy she was scheduled for, she had a port put in and was told she needed 6 cycles of chemotherapy every 3 weeks.
This requires a 4 hour drive to Phoenix, five hours of chemo and a 4 hour drive home.
My sister Laurie was here to take her for the first round. Bryan is able to take her for her 2nd round on the 28th of this month.
Linda is on leave from work, hoping her insurance continues. However, there are many expenses not covered including the travel and lodging required for the trips to Phoenix.
Linda has spent her entire life helping others. For years she taught school in Sanford, Maine. When she moved out West, she became and remains a counselor for prison inmates.
Those that know her, know she is a proud person and asking for help is not in her nature. So it is me setting up this page to support my sister.
I have been so worried about her. I arrived in Arizona on October 22nd to join my mother who has been here since the beginning of the month. My worries were lightened when I arrived. Her positive attitude is an inspiration to me and all those that love her.
I truly believe that any support you can give will keep her positive attitude strong. She has a long fight ahead of her.
Please share this with anyone you know that have been a part of Linda's life.
In Total Sisterdarity sending love and thanks, Lisa, Laurie and Linda MacKenzie ❤❤❤
