Sister Act x The Melissa Bell Foundation

Hi all, I’m Alexandra Burke and I play the charismatic Deloris Van-Cartier in Sister Act. I want to take a little moment of your time, to tell you the inspiration behind why we setup the Melissa Bell Foundation. Melissa Bell was my wonderful mother. My mother had a love and passion for music, and a lifelong commitment to support others to embrace, enjoy and enhance their potential talent.

Melissa was an inspirational person not only to her family but to many others. Her determination, fighter mentality and caring personality never faded, even with her illness, or the effects of the strokes. Her family wanted to create a lasting legacy in her honour, and her love for music and joy of helping others.

The Melissa Bell Foundation is focused to make a difference to the lives of many young people. The foundation is committed to help and support young people develop their talent and achieve their dreams.

The Melissa Bell Foundation has formed a partnership with the Sylvia Young Theatre School, London’s renowned performing arts school in London offering a high level of academic & vocational studies. The foundation hopes to raise as much money as possible to support underprivileged young people each year, to be granted a scholarship at Sylvia Young Theatre School.

The wonderful Team here at Sister Act, are helping us, so we can support as many young people as possible. We are eternally grateful for any donation you can make, big or small. As they say ‘every little helps’ and your donation will go towards to helping young people enhance their potential talents.
