Hi all,
If you are seeing this, you are one of my lovely Instagram followers, and I want to say here and now that I am so grateful for each and every one of you!
When I adopted Sissy in March 2021, she had been seen by a veterinarian who said she her condition was highly unlikely to be degenerative, so I went forward with the adoption. I was, and still am, so deeply in love with this wiggly pup. Sadly, this has not been the case.
When I adopted her, she could run around and get herself up onto the sofa but now has lost nearly all of her ability to stand and walk without falling. We are working on training with a wheelchair to remedy this and continue her good quality of life, but vet bills are stacking up. She recently underwent a simple nail length reduction procedure to help with her mobility, and unfortunately developed a rare infection afterwards, which landed us in the E.R. with a massive bill. Now she is showing signs of hip injury, which is very likely from the constant wobbles and falling.
If you know me personally, you know that I do NOT like to ask for help. I took this dog in, and by doing that, I assumed full financial responsibility for her current and future medical needs.
However, nobody can see the future, and this is where we are now. I have been so blessed by the people I have met through Sissy's instagram account and would not be reaching out for help if I did not truly believe this was the next best step in providing her the best care possible.
With all our love,
Catie & Sissy
