On February 9th, 2025, my sister’s life turned more chaotic than usual when an unlicensed, uninsured driver mistook her house for a parking spot in Lehigh Acres, FL. He walked away, but unfortunately left my sister with an unwanted home-demolition project.

The result? A house in disarray, tenants temporarily displaced, and my sister playing the role of superhero landlord. Meanwhile, her insurance company has been putting on a master class in ghosting for almost a month now, so she’s been fronting the repair costs herself, including putting her tenants up in a hotel so they have a safe place to stay. Her and her husband are not rich Lords of the Land; this is their only tenant property and they both work full-time jobs. Most recently, she had to pay $5,000 for a new hot water heater and electrical panel. All this is out of her own pocket, and that's before the real house repairs have even begun.

The bills are stacking up faster than bad decisions in a horror movie, and she could really use some help.
