Sir Scout's Amputation

Hi Everyone , this is Scout - Little Italian Greyhound.  Several
weeks ago - Scout had to have what was thought to be Lipoma
from his right hind leg removed.  
Turns out this is a sarcoma  - but they they were able to debulk it (exterior of it;  down to the muscle) but it is in the muscle . 

He is doing great great from the removal/debulking  - running
and playing never really acting as though anything as though he had a surgery. 
When it was confirmed that it is malignant soft tissue
sarcoma, mid-grade; which tend to be isolated to the
area;  I felt such heart break for him;   as,it is not a question of  if it will grow back; but when it grows back.

So, in speaking with his Doc. Kerwin - it is at his suggestion that
the next steps, would be leg amputation,  high on the hip. Which will heal him. Dr, Kerwin has spoken with a specialist he knows    and it is the best game plan for Scout.  I have conversed with
doctors and friends who have experienced  such surgery and
they have said he will recover and adapt, very well.   

All donations will be put towards the surgery to remove his leg,  
Scout will be 12 but acts like a 2 year old, he is very healthy otherwise, and I want to help this little one live a long prosperous life.
