Sir King Linus' Health

Hi everyone. I am trying to raise money to support my dog, Linus’ medical bills. He was just recently diagnosed with IMHA, an autoimmune disease where his healthy red blood cells essentially started attacking each other and shutting his body down. After 2 blood transfusions and a lot of medication, the dog-tors and I are extremely hopeful<3 With that being said, he has been in and out of intensive care and will continue to need check-ups and medication. Linus has given me, and so many others, unconditional love and happiness over the past 3 years, and now I am hoping some of you will help me to do the same for him.

I adopted Linus from Texas when he was 4 months old; expecting a 2-year-old dog based on the rescue agency’s information. He was in rough shape and so sick the vets weren’t sure he was going to make it. He was such a nervous, sweet, skin-and-bones puppy and I was patient in making sure he felt happy, loved, and comfortable in his new home. Since then, we have done everything together from moving across the country to sleeping in the same bed every night to eating meals together - we've been inseparable.

A few weeks ago, he started acting extra tired and didn’t want to eat or leave my side. He wasn’t even interested in my food! He had trouble getting down the stairs one morning, and when we went outside for his morning pee, it was almost orange/red, so naturally, I started thinking the worst. After calling my home vet 2 hours away, they told me to bring him early the next day. After 2 days in the vet, I got a call saying I needed to bring Linus to an animal hospital to see if there was anything that could be done, but they were not confident he was going to make it. I was completely devastated, I thought I was losing my best friend.

After 2 days and 1 blood transfusion, I was told to start thinking about the end. Miraculously, after the 2nd blood transfusion, Liney pulled through like a champion. He has now been home for 3 week(s) and has been doing great with his medication, sleep, and healing. As this process continues, I am giving him the best care I can create for him, and I am hoping some kind dog-lovers can help me provide the love, care, and support this amazing furry man deserves.
