Sir Kamden
Kamden was born full term at 39 weeks March 5th 2024. He was born completely healthy. At two weeks he was admitted to CHOA for failure to thrive. He struggled to eat and was losing weight. Kam was diagnosed with macronathia (under developed mandible), GURD/ acid reflux, and dysphasia. He has been NG tube fed since two weeks old. July 11th at four months old he will undergo surgery for a GTUBE. This will allow his face to be free and tubes out of his throat.
With his medical issues I can not work. I have been out of work since 28 weeks pregnant with Kam UNPAID! I have applied for benefits to help bring in income but that takes 6-12 MONTHS for approval. Until those benefits are approved we don't qualify for food stamps.
Kam will need extensive care for months to year(s) to come which will not allow me to work. Currently he and I are on the road half the week to appointments. His doctors are in Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Decatur, and Snellville. We drive to Sandy Springs every week ( 4 hours minimum round trip) We are now a single income family and struggling. I don't know what else to do but ask for support from our community. We are two months behind on mortgage and a month behind on utilities. I am trying to keep a roof over our head as is my husband and food on the table.
We also have a two year old and two large dogs and two cats to care for. Our vehicles need repairs to keep my husband working and me taking the kids to appointments.
Please share our story. Any help would be appreciated but never a must. We are trusting God on this journey and thankful over all Kam is healthy. He is such a joy and happy baby.
Updates to come!
