Siofras Hair Donation

My name is Síofra and I am 8 years old. I was meant to make my first Holy Communion on the 16th of May 2020 but it was postponed because of Covid-19. 



This made me a little bit sad but it also got me thinking what could I do to turn a negative into a positive. I had the idea to raise money for the nurses and doctors in Cork hospitals who are working so hard to help people who are sick because of Covid-19. 


My plan is to donate my lovely long hair (that hasn't been cut in 2 years) to charity. I will get it cut and donate it when I make my Holy Communion later this year (hopefully) so it will be even longer!


I'm hoping the money raised will help to get more masks and equipment for the hospitals and that they find a way to stop Covid-19 soon. So we can all go back to school and see our friends again and that I can go back doing Gymnastics in my club.
