Siobhan Strong: Beating the Big C
Donation protected
Anyone who knows Siobhan, knows her as an incredibly loving, kind, generous and beautiful woman - inside and out. She is an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister & friend. She has a heart of gold, a contagious smile, and a way of making everyone around her feel valued, supported and cared for. Siobhan has built deep and lasting relationships in every circle she touches, always showing up for those she loves. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.
At the end of January, Siobhan was shockingly diagnosed with Stage IIB invasive ductal carcinoma - an aggressive form of breast cancer - merely four months after having given birth to their youngest son. She is now facing an incredibly tough road ahead, having begun a long treatment journey starting with five months of intensive chemotherapy. This will be followed by surgery and further treatments, including additional chemotherapy and/or radiation, depending upon her response to the initial treatment.
Despite the challenges, there is hope. There is always hope. And more than ever, her loving husband, Colin, and their three little boys - just 5 months, 2 years, and 4 years old - need their hope to become a reality. Siobhan is strong, determined, filled with Faith and surrounded by love. With the advancements in targeted therapy and the unwavering support of her family and friends, she has every reason to believe in a brighter future. Siobhan’s cancer is triple-positive, meaning she is eligible for targeted therapy - an advanced treatment that has been proven to increase cure rate and reduce the chances of recurrence. However, this life-saving medication is not currently covered by our provincial health plans, meaning that Siobhan and her family must pay out of pocket to access it.
At the same time, Siobhan’s family is bearing an immense emotional and financial burden. The weight of Siobhan’s diagnosis, coupled with the overwhelming financial strain it brings, has put tremendous pressure on her family, amplifying an already difficult situation. Colin has stepped away from work for the time being to care for their three young children and Siobhan, adding to the challenges they face during this unimaginably hard time. Despite the chaos into which they have been recently thrown, they are doing their best to provide their sons with a sense of normalcy, in an effort to shield them from the full weight of their struggles.
Siobhan has always been the one to support and uplift those around her. It’s now time for us to return that love and lift her up in her time of need. We want to ensure she has access to the best possible treatment without the added worry of financial burden.
Let’s rally together to give Siobhan the best possible chance at beating this, by ensuring that she has access to the life-saving treatment that she needs and providing relief for her family during this trying time. Any amount that you can contribute will make a difference in supporting Siobhan’s fight against cancer.
We thank you in advance - your kindness, generosity, and love mean more than words can express. By donating, praying and sharing this Campaign, you are joining with us in this fight, and for that we are forever grateful. Thank you for standing with Siobhan and her family in this fight. #SiobhanStrong
