Dear Family & Friends,
I have wonderful news to share! I was just accepted as a Fellow at the “Block House Residency for the Institute of Public Architecture” in New York City. I am thrilled about this opportunity because I am going to create a children's book with a goal to connect children to nature.
In order to do it, I need to raise $6,000, to cover the costs of the program, room&board, and development of the book. Your donation, big or small, would be so appreciated. This is a dream come true. Please join me on this journey!
The 3 month residency is located on Governor's Island, a former military fort, in New York Harbor, south of Manhattan. I will be staying on the Island, along with 5 other Fellows, also working on creative projects.
For my independent project, I’ll be running all over NYC, checking out every play space I can find, to see what works, what doesn’t, gathering lots of data on the children's spaces as well as the spirit of place, as inspiration for the book.
I promise you a copy of the book and I’ll even read it to your kids and grandkids, while babysitting for free. ;)
Follow me on Instagram (@siobhan.intheland) to see how your generous contribution is making a difference. I promise you will be "proud out of me." Thank you from my heart, I love you all!
