My name is Carly and I’m fundraising on behalf of my niece Scarlett May. Her mum, Siobhan, 33 years old, passed on 05/08/2025 after 10 long months in hospital.

We still have no reason why she was found unresponsive, by her carers, at her home on 09/12/2024. Having lost 10 stone. After a long fight for life her body could just not cope with all it had been through. Earlier this year we were advised that medically, there was nothing else that could be done to save her life. It was just a case of waiting to see which of her organs failed first. Being on benefits, Siobhan had no savings, she had not started a life insurance policy as she didn’t expect what was going to happen. Having looked at cremation costs, they all exceed £1000. We don’t want to let her leave this earth without some kind of recognition however, we do not have the money to be able to give her the send off she deserves. Please help Scarlett and us to be able to give her mum respect after passing that she should have received when she required care.

Any amount that anyone can spare would be gratefully received. Scarlett is 15 years old. No one should have to go through this heartache.

The date of the funeral shown on here is just a random date - We are having to wait for a specialist consultant to look at Siobhan’s medical notes to establish the cause of death. This can take up to 5 days. Until they have done this we are unable to register her death.
