Single mum with 2 young boys lost home to fire

"It takes a village to raise a child."
This is what we believe in here at Jenny's Kindergarten in Stanmore. We have set this page up in an attempt to come together as a community to extend our support and solidarity to one to our enrolled families who've lost their home in a fire in the early hours of Monday morning at Newtown.

The single mother of 2 has moved to Sydney from the US last year. With no family support in the country, the family has spent the last three nights in a hotel and the community services department is currently looking at placing them in a refuge. The little boys, one aged 2 and the other one aged 4, have attended Jenny's Kindergarten full time since they've moved to Australia last year. The boys have spent the last couple of days wondering where they'll be sleeping every night.
We are collecting clothing, including adult female clothing (size 8 if at all possible) and toiletries donations for the family at the centre in Stanmore. A lending hand from the community is really going to make a big difference in the life of those 2 little boys and their mother. The mother is the direct beneficiary of all funds raised.
Your support and generosity is much appreciated.
