Single Mother with Lifethreatening Medical Issues

Hello there! My name is Emily LaRose, and I am here to share some information with you about my sister, Evangeline, and to request support for her during this challenging time in her life.
She is currently suffering from hemolytic anemia, which is a medical condition that occurs when the immune system attacks the red blood cells that supply oxygen to the body. This current situation has likely occurred due to a severe auto-immune disorder that she has been battling for a few years now. Unfortunately, she has been experiencing worsening symptoms of late, which have made things especially difficult for her. She is currently undergoing treatment which includes blood transfusions and high-dose steroids to try to stop her body from attacking itself. With her unique antibodies, steroid treatments have not always worked. But, it is the first line of treatment options at this time, so her doctor is hopeful that they will be helpful at least to start with. Doctors will continue monitoring her treatments and will modify the plan as needed to address how her body responds to the continued therapy.
As a single mother who just had a baby, her medical condition is impacting her ability to work and provide for herself and her children. She also needs help getting access to the appropriate type of medical care that will help stop her current life-threatening illness and put it back into remission.
For those of you who do not know her story, I will provide, as best I can, some context for the issues that have occurred in the last few years that have impacted her medical condition and mental health.
In 2022, Evangeline and her husband of 13 years, mutually decided to part ways after making some difficult decisions, with the final divorce papers filed only recently this month. We also lost both of our parents this same year, which left a massive gap in all of our lives.
In an incredible twist, at the end of 2022, Evangeline was surprised to discover she was expecting a little boy in October 2023. Even with her auto-immune issues, her pregnancy went pretty smoothly, although she kept a close eye on her symptoms to ensure everything went well.
In October of this year, she welcomed the birth of an amazing little guy. He was quite a surprise to us, but he has brought such an extraordinary ray of sunshine to our lives. His strong brother and caring sister were excited to become big siblings to him.
Immediately after the birth of the new baby boy, Evangeline’s ex husband had an opportunity to move out of state and felt that Evangeline and all the children should go with him. However, due to travel restrictions for the baby and Evangeline's desire to stay in the local area so that her children still had a connection to family and friends, moving was not an option for her. Her ex husband ultimately decided to take the older two and go about 24 hours away, allowing Evangeline to change her mind and move with them later if she so chose.
This life shift, no matter how unavoidable has ultimately caused Evangeline’s physical body immense stress, and all have compounded her existing medical condition.
This information is not intended to cast blame on anyone or any situation but to provide context for how difficult the last few years have been for Evangeline, both emotionally and physically.
All this is also to explain the situation that Evangeline now finds herself in as a single mother without the ability to work because of her fragile medical situation. She will need financial help to pay household bills while she also pays for expensive medical bills to keep herself alive.
Evangeline and I are incredibly private regarding financial struggles, as we were taught to be by our amazing parents. But I am aware of how crippling this situation is for Evangeline. It's also highly frightening if you think you have to choose between keeping your electricity on or deciding to treat your medical problem.
There is a vast community out there willing to help if they knew there was a need. Let's show Evangeline love and support during this difficult time. If you can't help financially, that is completely fine. Just pray or send good vibes and help her by sharing this post. Thank you everyone!!
