My name is April and this is my second time fighting Mucinosa Ovarian Cancer, which made it's first appearance when I was 25 years old in 2019 as a 17.5 cm tumor on my ovary.
MOC ovarian cancer is a very rare cancer, making up just 3 percent of all ovarian cancers, which already only make up 3 percent of all cancers total.
Both the ruptured ovary and my tumor was removed. They did not think it would come back and I had 2 kids, the first just 3 months after surgery, the second when she was 8 months old. It's now been years post surgery and the cancer has come back as metastasis stage 4 in lungs, on adrenal gland, in spine, liver and multiple found in brain. It total I have 13 known tumors and multiple metastasis sites. Two of them are big enough to cause issues; one of the 7 in my brain is pressing on my balance part of the brain. The second problematic tumor is causing partial paralysis through Cauda Equina in my spine, causing mobility issues, inability to sit, drive, or go to the bathroom without the help of painful suppositories and manual disempaction and diapers.
I have gotten 3 rounds of chemotherapy, 2 rounds of immunotherapy, and 20 rounds of radiotherapy. Unfortunately nothing has helped and the cancer has started to spread even faster.
I am now heading to Germany to get Dendriatic Cell Therapy, which is not a treatment available in Canada but I'm running out of options. I'm digging deep into my savings as it costs approx $50,000 for the treatment.
Thank you and God bless!
