Single Mother loses home due to storm damage

Hi, my name is Leslie Graff, and I'm a single mother supporting my daughter; we lost our home due to storm damage.

Upon arriving home, I had to be escorted to my apartment by the assistant director, who made a callous remark: "I hope you have a bathing suit before entering." Upon entry, I was shocked and devastated to see my entire residence in one foot of water with continuous streams entering through the ceiling in every room. All my personal belongings from floor to top were ruined by water and subsequent clean-up efforts by a water extraction company hired by the apartment complex.

I'm currently without a home, with only the clothes on my back and remaining personal belongings. I've received no support from the apartment management after multiple attempts to get help. The only solution I was offered was to be released from the lease.

My daughter and I are currently staying in a standard room at a Clearwater Hotel after a Roofing Company representative reached out with an offer to pay for a room using the company credit card daily.

I continue to call the representative multiple times a day to receive confirmation that my daughter and I will have a room to stay in. The stress of losing my home and all my personal belongings has been exacerbated by the continued pressure of being dependent on day-to-day living arrangements from the roofing company.

I've been unable to return to work due to this devasting event and the subsequent consequences of being homeless. I've spent most of my days culling through my ruined personal items hoping to salvage irreplaceable items such as photographs and essential documents, to no avail.

As a result of the storm damage, I lost wages and incurred considerable expenses in dealing with this catastrophic event.

Due to this terrible sequence of events that my daughter and I have endured, I'm humbly requesting any support that anyone can provide to help us during this difficult time. I pray that my daughter and I will soon recover from this horrible event. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope today and tomorrow will bring you joy. :)
