Lynnise Barham is an employee of Fudge Farm located in the Waterfront, Homestead as well as 1503 E Carson St.,Southside. She was originally hired through a program administered by Goodwill called "Learn & Earn". The program helps at-risk youth find employment with the goal of the employer eventually hiring the kids onto a permanent position.
While working at Fudge Farm, owners Molly & Walt Rainey, quickly realized that at just 18 years old Lynnise was one of their most valuable, consistent and brightest workers. Upon finalizing the Learn & Earn Program, the Raineys offered Lynnise a full-time position managing their delivery orders with the highest wage rate of the other 28 general employees.
As with all the youth the Rainey's employ, they try to encourage them to either further their education or trade skills. This Fall Lynnise will be entering CCAC, as a freshman, while continuing to work part time. As if this were not difficult enough to manage while being a single teenage mom, she will have to continue to take two to three buses to get to work/school and two to three buses to get home daily. A reliable vehicle would be life changing to Lynnise, her daughter and their future.
Immediately after this fundraiser ends the Fudge Farm Team will also hold an in-store fundraiser in which all sales for the day will be contributed to this cause as well. Please help us accomplish this goal. We thank you in advance.
