Single Moms Home Broken Into & Vandalized
Donation protected
On May 6th while my niece was at work she was a victim of vandalism and theft. The suspect is currently on the run and police are searching for him. He vandalized and stole several items in her home. He attempted to cause a fire in her home damaging her stove and kitchen, he broke her microwave, 2 TVs, lap top, chairs, kids toys, doors, fans, book shelves, glass ornaments, kitchen cabinets and damaged the kitchen floor with the fire he started in her kitchen. My neiece is a single mom whom works hard for the the few things she has. As it is, it's been difficult for her supporting her children and making ends meet but she does it all on her own and has never asked for assistance. Imagine coming home from work after you just picked up your 3 children from day care and seeing the fire department, bomb squad, and police surrounding your complex and not knowing it's your home that was broken into. She walks into her home with her 3 little children and it's a disaster all her belongings broken, items missing, doors broken, items thrown all over each room including her children's bedroom as if a gang of hoodlums came to ransack her little place. This person stole her child's IPad, "LOL Doll" collection, jewelry, he broke her daughter's Barbie house and still entered her room and opened all her dressers and dumped everything out searching for items he could take. He broke ceiling fans and tore down shelves leaving marks on her walls. If you personally know Laura you know she's very independent and a hard working mother. She is a humble and kind person whom would never hurt anyone and for something like this to happen to her and her children goes beyond words can say. A single mother has it so rough as it is. He stole more than just items, he stole her security and feeling safe in her own home so much that she has not been able to return to sleep in her home since the day this took place. Though she's thankful that it didn't happen when they were home..... it is still a great loss for someone that has so little to begin with. Unfortunately, with her rent plus utilities, food, etc, etc, she simply could just not afford renter's insurance on her income alone. She has only one income coming in and she was forced to lose several days of work over this situation and due to the severity of her hardship worked the weekend of Mother's day to try and make up for the lost day's of work. With that being said, I'm asking family and friends to help her get back on her feet.... anything you can donate to her fund will be greatly appreciated. These were items that took her months to save for. The things she worked so hard to get or maintain for her babies. Shes looking at some pricey items to replace and get repaired in her apartment such as ceiling fans, cabinets, stove, flooring in her kitchen, window screens, repainting walls, doors. (Maybe even moving.) Her laptop was broken and damaged with ALL her pictures of her kids - just so much is lost that will never be replaced. She needs the help and support of her family and friends right now. Anything will help and will be appreciated. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank you.
