My name is Moenetress Calhoun—Moe to most—and I'm a single mother of three incredible boys. One is proudly serving our country in the Air Force, while my other two are still at home with me, watching as I work to build a legacy for our family and community.

## My Journey

For over a decade, I traveled city to city selling life insurance, doing everything in my power to provide for my children. The constant struggle was real: chasing business opportunities while trying to be present for my boys. Without a support system, I found myself stretched beyond limits—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I knew something had to change. I didn't just want to survive; I wanted to thrive and be truly present in my children's lives.

That's when MVP Getaways was born—a short-term rental business offering thoughtfully designed, healing-centered vacation stays. Having stayed in countless rentals myself, I recognized what was missing: genuine warmth, intentional care, and the kind of peaceful energy that makes a space feel like home. I'm bringing these elements into every property I create.

But this vision extends far beyond business.

## The Heart of My Mission: Rest and Rise Foundation

Alongside MVP Getaways, I've founded the Rest and Rise Foundation—a nonprofit dedicated to serving:

- Single parents who rarely get a moment to themselves

- Caregivers who pour endlessly into others

- Families experiencing homelessness or significant hardship

I've walked in these shoes. I understand the bone-deep exhaustion and the feeling of being overlooked while carrying life's heaviest burdens. Rest and Rise will provide healing stays where people can breathe, reset, and reconnect with their worth.

This isn't about luxury—it's about restoration. It's creating space for a single mom to finally exhale. It's offering a caregiver permission to remember they're more than their responsibilities. It's providing dignified, peaceful accommodations where families experiencing homelessness can gather their strength and plan their next steps forward.
