Hi my name is Laura. Let me begin with saying thank you to anyone for helping. I am a 48 year old single mother to an amazing 13 year old son. Our lives changed drastically in February of 2022.
I was ill from throwing up all day, but I wanted to try to go to the store. I was so dehydrated and dizzy that I fell in the parking lot. Once I came to I realized that I had hit my head and had a very deep laceration that was bleeding profusely. By the grace of God fellow shoppers came to help and called 911. Once I was at Queen of the Valley they gave me fluids and stitched up my head. No CT or MRI was done. They sent my son and I home in a cab. Little did we know that the worst was not over.
A few hours later my son found me on the bathroom floor seizing. As scared as he was he called 911 again. I was rushed back to the Queen of the Valley where I continued to have multiple seizures that my son had to witness. FINALLY a head CT was done and they found a brain bleed. Had they done the CT when I was first there much of this could be avoided.
The seizures have left me with horrible tremors that make it unable to walk at times and have caused continued falls at home. I also began suffering with extreme anxiety. Needless to say I have been unable to return to work as an RN. I have used up all of my savings, borrowed money from family until there was nothing left to give, maxed out all my credit cards and gone through what was left of my disability. We are now facing eviction but have no where to go.
I have never felt so scared and helpless. I do not want to have to leave the home my son has grown up in. All I’m asking for is some assistance to help pay rent and all the medical bills that I have acquired. Any little bit would help. I am ashamed to have to ask for help, but things have become desperate. Thank you for reading this. My son and I are eternally grateful.
