Danielle is a single Mom of 2 kiddos who is on day 25 of having Covid. She has (obviously) had to shut down her daycare which is her only form of income. Her kids are quarantined at home w/ her…they can’t leave the house as they have been exposed meaning she can’t get any help with them from family and friends. Danielle has personally helped my kids and I out and also spends her life caring for other peoples Children. She has the PUREST heart. I am hoping that we can all come together and take some of the financial burden off her. Her story below:
"Im about to get real about how much Covid is personally affecting me & my life so bear with me.
I’m on day 25 now & don’t even feel partially better. Taken a couple trips to the ER because of the pain being so intolerable & scary. Ten people were in the “Covid” section during this weeks ER visit & all were my age or younger. Im 34 & pre Covid totally healthy, no existing health conditions, on a great health regimen, working out everyday, drinking a gallon of water a day, taking vitamins, non smoker etc.
A lady said it best when describing her headaches in the ER by calling them “Ice pick headaches” that’s exactly how they feel. I have those headaches every day now, my lungs feel like they’ve never worked so hard, cough non stop, Cant taste or smell anything, dizziness, nausea, stomach pain & my whole body aches. Taking multiple Epson salt baths a day is the only thing that feels like it remotely helps. Run a humidifier & diffuser every night, insomnia because honestly scared I won’t wake up & what would my kids do, Lost ten lbs by the the first week. I was feeling strong before I woke up sick & feeling weaker then I’ve ever felt now. I take Tylenol on the clock, cough meds with codene & an inhaler.
I have two kids to take care of a toddler & a teenager & doing the best I can as a single mom but its been so challenging & scary for us all. Had to close my daycare business until further notice which has caused a financial burden as well. I will never forget how this whole experience has felt & truly wont take being healthy for granted again. My wish to you is you won’t either while you have the chance.
Covid is no joke, this whole mask debate is the most selfish thing I’ve ever seen. Not saying a mask is a cure all because we can do other things to stay safe as well but why wouldn’t you do any & ALL of them for yourself and everyone around you?! Totally blows my mind. DAY TWENTY FIVE people. This isn’t the news blowing it out of proportion. This is real life, this is my life and very real to me & my family.
