- Urgent Help Needed: Single Mom and Sons Lose Everything in House Fire , location Carleton Place , Ontario
Early Tuesday morning, at 4 am, Nov. 03, a devastating house fire ripped through the home of a single mother, Cindy, and her two young sons, TJ (9) and Jayden (14), who happens to be our grandson. They lost everything: their belongings, their memories, and their sense of security. They have no home now.
Thankfully, they escaped the fire in time, along with their beloved cat. However, the situation is dire, as they didn't have household insurance.
As a community, can we come together to help this family get back on their feet. We're accepting monetary donations to support their immediate needs, such as temporary housing, food, and clothing. Then they will need monetary donations to help with first and last months rent, if they can find available housing.
In addition to monetary donations, we're also collecting:
- Gift cards to help them purchase essentials
- Gently used clothing:
- TJ (youth size 14/16) and Shoe size youth 3
- Jayden (men's small) and shoe size mens 9
- Cindy (women's small/medium) and ladies size 6 shoe
Please note that we're not accepting household items at this time, as they're currently staying with relatives until a rental unit can be found.
If you'd like to drop off clothing or a monetary donation in cash, please visit:
81 Emily St, Carleton Place
Go around to the back gate entry and back porch area. Let me know so I can thank you personally.
Every donation, big or small, counts! Your generosity will help bring hope and comfort to this family during their darkest hour.
Let's rally around Cindy, TJ, and Jayden to show them they're not alone. Donate today and share this campaign with your friends and family!
Every donation brings us closer to helping this family rebuild their lives. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
Update: Dec 8, the family is looking for a rental unit so the family will have a place to live in Carleton Place, where the children go to school. Right now they are divided and living with various relatives, which has been hard on them all. If anyone knows of a 2-3 bedroom place to rent in Carleton Place , please reach out.
Thank you everyone who has donated to the fund raiser, and to those who have donated clothes, it has been a great help.
We have a ways to go yet and this is going to take awhile, but we appreciate your support and kindness.
