Hi everyone,

My name is Kourvoirsier C. and I’m a single mom of three doing everything I can to keep my family moving forward after a life-changing tragedy.

On July 3rd, 2024, my mom, sister, and my 2 children were involved in a terrible car accident that claimed my sister life and left my daughter with a broken hip. We not only lost a beloved part of our family that day, but we also lost our only vehicle. Since then, getting around has been a daily struggle.

Not having a car has made it extremely difficult for me to get back and forth to work, and it has affected my children — especially my oldest daughter. The school district provided her with a free city bus pass, but because of her hip injury from the accident, she cannot walk the 8 minutes from the bus stop to her school. As a result, we’ve had many days where I simply cannot get her there on time, or home after school. This has put us on the verge of truancy, even though we are trying our absolute best.

I’ve been relying on rides when I can afford them, but as a single mom, the cost adds up quickly. Missing work or school is not something we can afford — emotionally or financially.

I’m asking for help raising $4,000 to purchase a safe, reliable used car so I can:

• Get to and from work consistently

• Get my daughter to school without risking truancy

• Take my children to appointments, groceries, and daily needs

• Give my family some stability after a year of hardship and loss

This is not something I take lightly, and asking for help is not easy for me. But having reliable transportation would truly change our lives right now and allow us to finally move forward.
