Single Mom out on disability leave

I am a single mom with a daughter in her last year at college who is now on state disability which is not enough to cover rent. I have been through rough times before as a single mom but have always made it work. This time I have no other way than to reach out to my community for assistance. 

I am a hard working 55 year old native to the Bay Area and have back herniations which are now causing me extreme nerve pain. I cannot work due to the pain and limitations so went on SDI a couple weeks ago. I expected to be able to survive financially on SDI but just found out I will only get $1,200 a month. Since I was on disability a year ago for the same issue, when they figured my amount it was only $1,200 because I had no earnings for the two quarters  I was disabled therefore zero dollars added to my benefits. 
I have no family to ask for help and hope someone out there will be willing and able to help me and my daughter to avoid being homeless. I will use the money to pay rent.
