Single Mom of Two Battling Breast Cancer

My name is Alexandra Robak and I’m creating this go fund me for my mom , who is currently battling breast cancer . My mother was diagnosed in December 2017 which means she has been fighting with this aggressive disease for about 3 years now. At this moment, she has triple negative metastatic breast cancer which means the cancer has progressed to her breasts, lymph nodes, neck, and lungs . Her ability to drive, work, walk , and even breathe has been diminished. She has been on oxygen for about 6 months now, which has slightly made her feel better. Recently, she was in the hospital for pneumonia which caused her to stay there for about a month. However, she could not stay there any longer and had to be discharged home. My mom is now in palliative care and is staying at home with me and my sister . I’m only 17, a senior at East Leyden High school and my sister is only 19, a sophomore at Triton College. We are trying our best to a accommodate to her needs which require a lot of work. My mom can’t use the restroom by herself. She can’t administer medicine by herself. She can’t do most of her daily life responsibilities by herself . My sister and I have stepped up and are trying our hardest to attend to her needs to the best of our abilities. However , we are both full time students and both work jobs . My father left us years ago and has not been any help at all. We don’t have a large family to lean on or any income to live off on at the moment . My grandparents have helped tremendously but they can only do so much . My mother is an incredible person who deserves the best care in the world and we have been struggling to provide it. Before her diagnosis , my mom was a nurse and a single mom always striving to make sure my sister and I were comfortable and loved . This fundraiser’s goal is to help pay for her medical bills and care . My sister and I are struggling to do it all alone and would really appreciate any financial or moral support given .
